Bridgwater guy Fawkes carnival has been traced back to 1847.

Making the oldest event of its kind in the United Kingdom, it has the reputation for being one of the largest illuminated processions in the world.

ADVANCE NOTICE – Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival – Saturday 2nd November 2019 at 6 p.m. Please note new start time! The main roads leading into Bridgwater will be closing down from 4pm.

Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival has won two tourism awards, a GOLD award in the Bristol, Bath & Somerset Tourism Excellence Awards for the TOURISM EVENT AND FESTIVAL OF THE YEAR 2016/17, a Silver award in the South West Tourism 2016/17 awards in the category TOURISM EVENT AND FESTIVAL OF THE YEAR 2016/17 and the COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AWARD 2019 in the Sedgemoor Business Awards.
